Suhaimi conferred BSK, a special award marking over a decade of involvement in the sport of takraw

KOTA KINABALU: The Honorary Secretary of the Sabah State Sepak Takraw Association, Suhaimi bin Abdullah, has marked a sweet moment in his sports career by receiving the State Honour and Medal of Sabah in conjunction with the 75th birthday celebration of the Governor of Sabah, Tun Musa Aman, recently.

He is among the recipients of the Bintang Setia Kinabalu (BSK) award this year.

Having been involved in the world of sepak takraw for over a decade, Suhaimi is recognised as a principled leader committed to the growth of takraw in the state, including at the grassroots level.

Suhaimi, who is a headmaster, expressed his gratitude and emotion over this recognition.

“I am very thankful to Allah SWT and grateful to the TYT for this award.

“This is a great honour, and I consider it a blessing not just for myself but also for all the leadership of the Sabah State Sepak Takraw Association who also received this state honour this time,” he stated in a social media post.

Also receiving the state honour are Tuan Hj. Awang Dullah, Vice President of the Sabah State Sepak Takraw Association (ASDK); Ir Ts. Azwan Abdullah, Deputy President (BSK); Akhbar Hamdan, Supreme Council Member (BSK); and Idi bin Ladinda, Supreme Council Member (BSK).

This award represents a high recognition from the Sabah State Government for the extraordinary achievements of Sabah in the sport of sepak takraw, both at the national and international levels.
