Kim Teck Cheong Consolidated Berhad Launches Iftar Tour 2025 with UPPM

KOTA KINABALU:Kim Teck Cheong Consolidated Berhad (KTC), represented by its Executive Director, Datuk Dexter Lau, is pleased to announce the launch of the Iftar Tour 2025 in collaboration with the Unit Pembangunan Pemimpin Masyarakat (UPPM) of Sabah.

This tour will cover 25 locations across Sabah, starting in Kudat on March 4, 2025, and concluding in Papar on March 28, 2025. An estimated 25,000 individuals, including underprivileged groups, persons with disabilities, single mothers, orphans, and members of the B40 income group, will receive Hari Raya pocket money and food baskets.

Additionally, 850 children from various locations will be treated to “Shopping Raya” activity, during which they will be taken to supermarket to shop for Raya clothing. This initiative not only supports those in need but also brings joy to the children and helps ease the financial burden on their parents or guardians ahead of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

According to Datuk Dexter, as in last year, this program is a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at easing the burdens of underprivileged groups and orphans throughout Ramadan. Through this program, beneficiaries will receive nutritious meals for breaking fast as well as essential aid to help them during this sacred month.

He also emphasized that KTC’s commitment to community assistance extends beyond Ramadan. In the past, KTC has provided aid to disaster victims, including fire and flood victims, as well as food baskets for communities affected by the pandemic.

Datuk Haji Awang Kadin, Director of UPPM Sabah, said that this second year of Iftar Tour reflects KTC’s continuous efforts in ensuring that contributions reach those who need them the most. With the implementation of this program, it is hoped that KTC will continue to be a catalyst for charitable efforts and serve as an example for other companies to contribute to the underprivileged.
