Pragmatism Over Politics: Masidi’s Fresh Take on Spending and Work Culture

KOTA KINABALU: Former Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak has described Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun’s statement on the implementation of work from home (WFH) and the reassessment of selected projects as timely and appropriate.

He stated that this initiative demonstrates prudent fiscal management.

“Reassessing projects is not about halting development, but rather ensuring that only high-impact and essential projects move forward.

“WFH can aid in lowering operational expenses while enhancing efficiency, as long as there is adequate monitoring and accountability,” he expressed in his Facebook post.

According to Salleh, this strategy exemplifies pragmatic leadership, indicating that in times of economic uncertainty, policy modifications are essential for sustaining financial stability.

“In general, the statement should be embraced. It underscores fiscal discipline, well-defined priorities, and a commitment to delivering value to the rakyat,” he added.
