PBS aims to defend seven seats, asking for more

PENAMPANG: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) plans to defend the seven seats it secured in the last state election and to expand its influence in areas where it has strong backing.

Acting president Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam said that PBS is ready to increase its presence in the upcoming election, particularly in regions with a solid party structure and loyal supporters.

“Our representation of all ethnic groups will be our strength,” he stated during the party’s 39th convention today.

He emphasised that the upcoming PRN is a crucial moment for Sabah, urging local parties to enhance their efforts to restore stability and progress.

Additionally, Dr. Joachim encouraged local parties to take charge in the upcoming state election.

He mentioned that local parties should lead in political representation, especially in protecting the rights and interests of the people of Sabah.

“One of our key goals for the 17th state election (PRN) is to ensure that Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) competes for as many seats as possible,” he added.
