KOTA KINABALU: Kota Marudu MP Datuk Wetrom Bahanda has expressed his full support for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as Prime Minister amid rumours of a plot to topple the current federal unity government.
The deputy president of the Social Democratic Harmony Party (KDM) believes Anwar can usher the country into an era of excellence.
“I am very confident in YAB Prime Minister’s ability to lead a more advanced Malaysia,
especially in fighting to overcome the problem of poverty in Sabah, particularly in Kota Marudu,” he said in a statement here today.
Over the past few days, rumours of a plot to overthrow the current Unity Government have intensified.
Rumors of a possible change of the federal government emerged after Bersatu leader Muhammad Faiz Naaman uncovered a mystery in his FB posting recently, implying that PN is capable of forming a new federal government with the support of 126 parliamentarians.
However, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on May 5 expressed his confidence that the Unity Government he leads will remain or can last until the next general elections.
