Jointly organised by the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) and Capital Markets Malaysia (CMM), the programme will be held on October 14 from 9am to 4.30pm at the Magellan Sutera Resort, here.
Admission is free, and the target audience includes micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and Mid-Tier Companies (MTCs) seeking to strengthen their growth plans, enhance investor readiness and explore alternative sources of capital.
Kembara Borneo 2026 – Enterprise to Expansion : Connecting Sabah Businesses with Growth aims to bring together business leaders, policymakers, investors, capital market intermediaries and ecosystem partners to explore how Sabah-based businesses can access capital market solutions and position themselves for their next phase of growth.
This complimentary programme is designed to help MSMEs and MTCs better understand the financing landscape, connect with relevant ecosystem players, and identify suitable pathways to support their business ambitions. Beyond traditional bank financing, businesses can also explore a range of alternative funding solutions, including those involving investors and capital market platforms.
The programme is supported by 12 supporting partners, namely the Kadazandusun Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Kota Kinabalu Hardware, Machinery and Building Materials Traders Association (KKHMBMTA), Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) Sabah, Persatuan Usahawan Maju Malaysia (PUMM), Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP), Penampang Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCCI), SME Association of Sabah, Sabah Business Development Association (SBDA), Sabah Women Entrepreneurs and Professionals Association (SWEPA), Small and Medium Enterprises Association (SAMENTA) Sabah, Federation of Malaysian Manufacturing (FMM) Sabah, and Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) Sabah.
President of SWEPA, Betty Bridget Epin said participants from the association hope to gain insight into alternative financing options such as equity crowdfunding (ECF) and peer-to-peer (P2P) financing platforms, and public-private co-investment initiatives as well as fundraising support.
