Sabah UMNO possesses a wealth of qualified individuals capable of assuming the role of Chief Minister, according to the NGO

KOTA KINABALU: Pak Aziz Bilin, the President of the Sabah Tik Tokes Media Association, believes that many leaders from Sabah UMNO or Barisan Nasional (BN) are qualified to be highlighted as potential Chief Minister candidates ahead of the upcoming state elections.

He stated that the notion of UMNO lacking capable leaders does not reflect the true situation.

Pak Aziz pointed out that besides the Sabah UMNO Chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, other notable figures who could be considered for the Chief Minister position include former Federal Minister and ex-Chief Minister of Sabah Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak and Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan.

“In my opinion, UMNO or BN does not face challenges in finding prominent figures as Chief Minister candidates,” he mentioned in a recent social media post.

For example, Pak Aziz said Datuk Salleh is a significant candidate due to his qualifications, caliber, and extensive experience in administration, having previously served as Chief Minister of Sabah.

“Therefore, it is unfair to suggest that it is difficult to find suitable leaders within UMNO or BN for the Chief Minister role.

“We hope the public will not be swayed by this narrative,” said the NGO president.

Regarding the ‘Poster Boy’ issue, Pak Aziz remarked that such significant matters should be decided by the party’s top leadership to maintain unity.
