Jeffery Nor questions who is truly inclined to take pleasure in engaging in political experiments in Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah UMNO Election Director, Jeffery Nor Mohamed, expressed his concerns about who is truly inclined to engage in political experiments in Sabah, citing instances of UMNO members defecting to Bersatu or Perikatan Nasional, subsequently transitioning to GRS, and now aligning with the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah.

He underscored that the primary concern in Sabah is not the political manoeuvring but rather the pressing issues faced by the people, such as water, electricity, and other essential infrastructure.

“If there are leaders (originally from UMNO) who merely focus on rhetorical questions, it signifies a disservice to the people of Sabah.

“The critical matter at hand is how to effectively address these challenges and eradicate poverty entirely,” he stated in a statement today.

Jeffery, who is also the Putatan UMNO chief, urged the people of Sabah to reflect thoughtfully on their experiences during the current administration, highlighting the persistent infrastructure challenges they have collectively endured.

For instance, many of our youth are compelled to seek employment opportunities outside Sabah (in peninsular Malaysia).

“There is no need for disputes as long as we lack a definitive stance; I believe they will continue to experiment in the future,” he remarked.

Earlier, the Deputy President of PGRS, Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, asserted that Sabah should not be treated as a testing ground for any political experiments.

Masidi emphasised that the state can no longer sustain the repercussions of external political trials, such as the Chief Minister rotation formula that was previously implemented during the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration.
