KOTA KINABALU: David Chan, the Chairman of the National Consumer Foundation Sabah, has conveyed his sincere appreciation to Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Anwar Ibrahim for his recent instruction to the Ministry of Works to accelerate road infrastructure initiatives in Sabah.
He said that this initiative is designed to enable the residents of Sabah to soon experience enhanced road conditions and toll-free access to the Pan Borneo Highway.
Characterising it as Progress Towards Improved Infrastructure, David remarked that the Prime Minister’s directive represents a crucial advancement in tackling the persistent infrastructure issues in Sabah.
“By emphasising and hastening road construction and maintenance, the government is making significant strides in improving connectivity and safety for the people of Sabah.
“This initiative is anticipated to promote smoother transportation, stimulate economic activities, and elevate the overall quality of life for the citizens of Sabah,” he said in a statement today.
Pan Borneo Highway: A Toll-Free Benefit In his announcement, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim underscored that the residents of Sabah will gain from toll-free access to the Pan Borneo Highway.
This highway, which traverses Sabah and Sarawak, is a vital infrastructure project aimed at enhancing connectivity and fostering economic development in East Malaysia, he added.
David expressed that the toll-free policy is especially appreciated as it reduces the financial burden on daily commuters and businesses that depend on this essential route.
