Dignifying the Kadazandusun language is my personal struggle – Ewon

PENAMPANG: Appreciating language as one of the branches of education, Yayasan Bank Rakyat (YBR), in collaboration with the Kadazandusun Language Foundation (KLF), held the Kadazandusun Language Carnival (BKD) and the Launching Ceremony of Year 5 and 6 Kadazandusun Language Workbooks here recently.

This programme is a continuation of publishing the best Kadazandusun Language Workbook Module specifically for students in years 4, and 6 6 to help the younger generation continue to cultivate their mother tongue culture.

The Minister of Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Development, Datuk Ewon Benedick, launched the ceremony to introduce the Kadazandusun Year 5 and 6 Workbook at the ITCC.

Meanwhile, Ewon was quoted as saying that: “Today’s programme is very close to my heart, and the Kadazandusun language is my personal struggle to dignify national education.”

“I am very excited to see the Kadazandusun Language Workbook Module for Years 4, 5, and 6 produced in less than 6 months only with the involvement of YBR through the collaboration of KLF.”

“Thank you, YBR, for supporting this initiative, and I hope YBR agrees to organise the Kadazandusun language carnival next year,” he added.

Also present were the State Education Department Director, Raisin Saidin; YBR General Manager, Syaiful Rizal Abdul Ghani; and YBR Corporate Communications Manager, Mohamad Ghazali Zainal Abidin.
