GOMBAK: Selangor’s progress and prosperity has enabled more than 100,000 Sabahans find employment in the state, said Sabah UMNO Liaison Committee Chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin.
He said this shows that Selangor, under the leadership of Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amiruddin Shari, is on the right track to continue progress in the state.
“Approximately 160,000 Sabahans come and work here (Selangor), showing that Selangor is a prosperous state that can offer jobs to outsiders,” he said at the launching ceremony of the unity election machinery and the Introduction of Pakatan Harapan (PH) – Barisan Nasional (BN) Candidate for Gombak Setia State seat at Sg Cincin Gombak Setia, last night.
Gombak Setia UMNO Division Chief Datuk Wira Megat Zulkarnain Tan Sri Omar Din has been named as the candidate in the Gombak Setia state constituency, representing the PH-BN Coalition.
Bung Moktar, who is also Sabah BN Chairman said, unlike Selangor, the other three states under the leadership of Perikatan Nasional (PN), namely Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah, do not provide job opportunities.
In the meantime, he said the PRN in Selangor is a testing ground for the PH-BN coalition under the Unity Government.
Thus, he said, the new alliance under the Unity Government needs to be strengthened by ensuring victory in the PRN this time.
Bung Moktar added that the PH-BN election machinery needs to inculcate the spirit of victory in themselves when campaigning.
“If the election machinery doesn’t work, the voters will judge us.
“To win, work to win.
“Our goal is to win. Remember that victory does not come alone. We have 14 days to determine the victory of the PH-BN alliance in Selangor,” said Bung Moktar, who is also a member of the UMNO Supreme Council.
Also present was former Sabah Chief Minister, who is currently Sabah UMNO treasurer Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak.
