KOTA KINABALU: Journalists, photographers and producers from
the print, electronic and online media in Sabah and Labuan can now submit entries for the
2022 Kinabalu Press Awards (KPA) starting today.
The closing date for submission is May 6, 2022, said Sabah Journalists Association (SJA)
President Datuk Muguntan Vanar.
He said SJA is looking forward to once again collaborate with the State Government under
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor through its generous support of the auspicious event
which is aimed at recognising media excellence.
“The KPA organising committee will also pay a courtesy call to the Chief Minister soon to
invite him as the Guest-of-Honour at the awards, of which the date and venue will be
announced later,” he said.
Petronas and Sabah Shell have also remained committed to being the main sponsors of the
KPA.
The SJA resumed the KPA last year after a one-year hiatus in 2020.
“We are very thankful for their support as we, like the rest of Sabah and the country,
continue our efforts to recover from the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said.
Towards this end, Muguntan encouraged print, online and broadcast journalists as well as
photographers to join in the competition that honours the best of the best in the fraternity.
