Antonsen secures victory at the Indonesia Masters, showcasing an outstanding performance

KOTA KINABALU: Denmark’s Ander Antonsen has had a remarkable start to the year, securing two badminton titles from two tournaments.

In Jakarta, he displayed his resilience by coming back from a game down to defeat Canada’s Brian Yang 18-21, 21-13, 21-18, thus claiming the Super 500 Indonesia Masters title.

Just two weeks prior, Antonsen emerged victorious in the Petronas Malaysia Open in Kuala Lumpur, earning his first Super 1000 title.

With his current exceptional form, Antonsen is undoubtedly a strong contender for a medal at the Paris Olympics in July.

In the women’s singles final, China’s Wang Zhi Yi triumphed over former world champion Nozomi Okuhara of Japan with a score of 21-14, 21-13.

Both singles champions received a prize of US$31,500 (RM150,000), while the runners-up settled for US$15,960 (RM75,000).
