KOTA KINABALU (BERNAMA): It is natural for leaders and members to leave a party when they lose confidence in the party’s leadership and struggles, said Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) deputy chairman 1 Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin.
The Sabah Deputy Chief Minister said it was the same in the case of Sebatik assemblyman Hassan A Gani Pg Amir who left Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) today and voiced his support for the GRS state government.
“Party leaders, and members will leave if they lose their confidence in the party leadership and struggles…we do not know where is the YB (Yang Berhormat) , we will wait and see,” he said when contacted via WhatsApp today.
Bung Moktar who is Sabah UMNO Liaison Committee chairman said his party would welcome Hassan A Gani if he chooses to join UMNO, however he has to go through the procedure of a normal member.
In an interview with Bernama on Thursday, Hassan A Gani announced leaving Warisan as the party is still putting priority to politics rather than the well-being of the people.
Following the move, Hassan A Gani voiced his support for GRS, an alliance comprising Perikatan Nasional, Barisan Nasional and Parti Bersatu Sabah which now has the support of 48 assemblymen out of 79 state constituencies in the assembly.– BERNAMA
