PARTI KERJASAMA ANAK NEGERI URGES SABAHANS TO STAND UNITED BEHIND SLS AND STATE GOVERNMENT IN DEFENDING 40% CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Kerjasama Anak Negeri (Anak Negeri) calls on all Sabahans, regardless of political affiliation, to stand united behind the Sabah Law Society (SLS) and the Sabah State Government in the ongoing pursuit to defend and enforce Sabah’s constitutional right to the 40% net revenue entitlement.

Parti Anak Negeri Treasurer General, Wong Kong Fooh, expressed full confidence in the legal team representing SLS as well as the Sabah State Attorney-General’s Chambers. He emphasized that the legal battle represents a historic crossroad for the rights and future of the people of Sabah.

“Parti Anak Negeri puts its complete trust in the competence, dedication, and legal prowess of the SLS lawyers and the State Legal Counsel. They carry the hopes and constitutional entitlements of all Sabahans into the courtroom, and they deserve our solid support,” said Wong Kong Fooh.

Wong also commended Nominated State Assemblyman YB Datuk Roger Chin for providing clear, factual, and timely clarifications regarding the recent court proceedings.

“Datuk Roger Chin’s explanation helps clear misconceptions and ensures the public remains accurately informed about the technicalities of the ongoing court matter. Public clarity is vital when dealing with matters of such immense historical and constitutional significance,” he added.

Addressing the public sentiment across the state, Wong urged all Sabahans to maintain calm, patience, and dignity while the matter is before the courts, while remaining steadfast in their support for Sabah’s rights.

“While emotions understandably run high when it comes to defending our rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) and the Federal Constitution, we must allow the legal process to take its proper course. Let us remain calm, law-abiding, and focused, but let there be no doubt: the people of Sabah stand squarely behind SLS and the State Government in this constitutional fight.”

Wong concluded by reminding Sabahans that constitutional rights must be diligently guarded and upheld for the benefit of future generations.

“Sabah’s 40% revenue entitlement is not a request or a favour; it is a sacred constitutional right. We must stand together as one people to ensure that what is constitutionally owed to Sabah is respected and fulfilled,” he added.
