KOTA KINABALU: The people of Sabah are urged to be grateful for the long-established blessings of peace and racial harmony.
In making this call, Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor stated that the peaceful environment has ensured a harmonious life among the diverse ethnic and religious communities in the state.
“We must be thankful for the blessings that Allah has bestowed upon Malaysia, especially Sabah.
“We continue to enjoy peace and unity. Children are able to pursue education, places of worship are thriving, communities live in mutual respect, and the economy is progressing towards building hope,” he said.
Hajiji made these remarks in the speech text for the official opening of the Sabah State Thinkers’ Forum 2026 at Wisma Muis today.
The speech was read by the Minister of Local Government and Housing of Sabah, Datuk Dr. Haji Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif.
Also present were the Assistant Minister of Rural Development Sabah, Datuk Samad Bin Jambri, and the President of the Islamic Organization of Sabah (USIA), Datuk Hj Sapawi Hj Ahmad.
Hajiji noted that this tranquility does not come about by itself; rather, it is the result of continuous efforts from the MADANI Government and the Sabah State Government, which are always striving to maintain stability, strengthen the economy, safeguard the welfare of the people, and uphold community harmony.
“There are still many challenges to face, but the peace we enjoy today is an invaluable blessing,” he said.
Hajiji remarked that the world today is witnessing a geopolitical wave that is increasingly shaking global stability.
“In many countries, wars, economic crises, inflation, political conflicts, and humanitarian disasters have robbed people of their peace.
“Indeed, this is a test from Allah SWT, and these tests come in various forms,” he said.
