Double joy for Gelvia Vanessa Jenny as Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan 2026

PENAMPANG: Gelvia Vanessa Jenny, the finalist representing Papar in the Unduk Ngadau pageant, has been named the state-level Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan (UNK) for 2026.

She emerged victorious among 52 other contestants during the grand finale held Sunday at the Hongkod Koisaan Hall of the Kadazandusun Cultural Association (KDCA), marking the conclusion of the month-long Kaamatan festivities.

Earlier, on May 1, the first day of this year’s Kaamatan celebrations, Gelvia was crowned Unduk Ngadau for her home district of Papar.

Her state-level win earns her a cash prize and a collection of additional awards.

The honors were presented by Toh Puan Faridah Tusin, wife of the Sabah Governor, alongside Datin Seri Juliah Salag, wife of the Chief Minister.

Juje Elor @ Francis, representing Tuaran, secured second place and received a cash award along with supplementary gifts.

Third place went to Criszelbellkah Lorris from Matunggong, who also received a monetary prize and other items.

Fourth place was shared by Liane Melve Grace Lias, representing Kota Kinabalu, and Kerishine Danil from Pagalungan.

Finishing in sixth and seventh positions were Gadrette Gregory from Penampang and Myra Evana Robert from Sook, respectively.
