Lawrence Gimbang Appointed Chairman of Lumaag Sabah Cooperative

KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Lawrence Gimbang, President of the Sabah Dusunic Languages Preservation Association, has been appointed as the new Chairman of the recently established Lumaag Sabah Berhad Cooperative.

Lawrence, who is also a former assemblyman for Bingkor, was elected to this position during the cooperative’s inaugural meeting held here today.

Also elected were secretary Jerry Ignatius Beatty and treasurer Zandi Sitiamah Sahat.

Lawrence stated that this appointment represents a significant responsibility that must be undertaken to ensure that the Lumaag Sabah Cooperative can provide a better future for its members.

“With the cooperation of all parties, I believe this cooperative can achieve great things,” he said after chairing the first meeting of the cooperative.

He mentioned that the Malaysian Cooperative Commission (SKM) approved the registration of Lumaag Sabah Berhad on February 6, this year.

Lawrence added that the cooperative, which is open to individuals in the cooperative’s area, aims to promote agriculture-based businesses.
