TAMBUNAN: The Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) in Tambunan is committed to ensuring a significant victory for its candidate, thereby aiding the party in achieving an outstanding performance in the upcoming 17th state election (PRN).
Tambunan Gagasan Rakyat chief Dato Dr Victor P. Paut said that with a membership exceeding 15,000, the party is now recognised as the dominant and strongest force in the region, impervious to challenges from other parties.
He emphasised that this strength positions PGRS Tambunan as a key supporter in reinforcing GRS Tambunan’s standing ahead of the upcoming 17th state election this year.
PGRS Tambunan aims to ensure a significant victory for GRS Tambunan’s candidates, thereby contributing to the party’s outstanding performance in the election, he remarked, receiving enthusiastic applause from the party delegates present.
He made these comments while officiating the Annual Conference of the Gagasan Rakyat N39 Tambunan Cluster Branch for 2025 at the Tambunan Community Hall on Saturday.
Victor noted that this election will determine whether GRS can secure the mandate and support of the people to continue governing Sabah for another term.
He acknowledged the current social media buzz, where the opposition are making concerted efforts to sway public opinion in their favour for the upcoming election, spreading various allegations, slander, and attacks against the state government’s leadership, particularly targeting Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor.
In light of this, he urged PGRS members statewide to rise and defend the state leadership under Hajiji’s guidance, stressing the need for members to leverage all available resources and capabilities to counter the falsehoods and accusations directed at the government and state leadership.
