BN-PH agreement for the Sabah election emphasises the importance of political stability – Salleh

KOTA KINABALU: Former Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak has described the agreement between BN and PH to face the Sabah state election as a step toward political stability.

According to him, it opens the door for more inclusive negotiations with local parties.

“This cooperation must be grounded in sincerity, credible candidates, and policies that serve the people,” he said in his latest Facebook post.

The Usukan assemblyman said Sabah needs stability, adding that all parties must unite for the future of the state.

Meanwhile, a formal agreement has been established between Sabah Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) to prepare for the forthcoming state election.

This decision comes after a crucial meeting on May 8, 2025, involving PH chairman and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and BN chairman and Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

The two leaders have agreed to work together in Sabah, signifying an important political partnership in anticipation of the upcoming elections.
