SANDAKAN: The safety of local residents remains a top priority for Adun Tanjung Papat Datuk Poon Ming Fung @ Frankie.
In response to public concern over the damaged handrail at the pedestrian bridge connecting the jogging track at Taman Permainan Sim Sim to the main road, immediate repair works have been successfully carried out under the initiative of Datuk Frankie Poon.
The deteriorated handrail, which posed a significant safety hazard to pedestrians, especially children and elderly joggers, has now been replaced with a sturdy, newly installed handrail.
This enhancement ensures a safer and more secure crossing for all users of the public pathway.
“We are committed to maintaining public infrastructure for the safety and convenience of the people,” said Datuk Frankie Poon.
“I would like to thank the community for their vigilance in reporting these issues. Together, we can build a better, safer Tanjong Papat,” he added.
The community is encouraged to continue providing feedback on public facilities that require maintenance or upgrading.
