Support for Sabah’s commitment to protect natural resources – Nizam

KOTA KINABALU: The state government has never issued mining licenses to any party, and the mineral resources of Sabah will continue to be safeguarded with integrity for the well-being of the people in the state.

Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (PGRS) information chief Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan expressed his full support for the statement made by the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor, on the matter.

He believes that the government’s firmness in protecting Sabah’s natural resources is crucial for ensuring the state’s progress without compromising environmental interests.

“It is important to note that issuing prospecting licenses for exploration and geomineral studies is a normal procedure for research and exploring potential,” he said.

At the same time, he criticised certain parties for manipulating facts through the spread of videos and political propaganda to create unrest, calling it an irresponsible act.

Nizam, who is also the assistant minister to the chief minister, stated that such false accusations aim to undermine the political stability of the state and tarnish the government’s reputation.

“I want to express my appreciation to the Chief Minister’s administration for its commitment to uphold the principles of transparency, fairness, and honesty in managing the state’s natural resources.

“Let us all come together to support this effort to ensure that Sabah continues to progress, remain stable, and prosper for the future,” he said.
