SANDAKAN: With Christmas approaching, churches in Sandakan are brightening up with decorations, laughter, and a strong sense of community. This season reminds everyone to reconnect with the true meaning of Christmas: a celebration of hope, joy, and generosity.

In this spirit, the Sandakan Interchurch Committee’s Executive Committee (EXCO), led by Chairman Archdeacon Lidis Singkung, recently visited Datuk Frankie Poon Ming Fung, ADUN Tanjung Papat, at his office in Sandakan.
The visit aimed to invite him to officiate the opening ceremony of the Sandakan Interchurch Christmas 2024 celebration, themed “In Times Like This.”
The event will take place on December 1, 2024 at Dewan SMJK Tiong Hua at 7:00 pm.
Frankie showed his excitement for the event and warmly invited the Christian community in Sandakan to join.
“Christmas is more than just a celebration; it reflects the joy, peace, and love that unite us,” he stated.
“I encourage the Sandakan Christian community to come together and share in this meaningful time, bringing the light of compassion into the new year,” he added.
This year’s theme, “In Times Like This,” speaks to the community’s need for hope and unity during tough times.
