Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan, said that however, the aspiration can only be achieved once the Pan Borneo Highway project, which is currently under construction, is completed.

He said that this festival is one of the factors that can attract the interest of Big Bikers fans, not only from Malaysia but also from abroad.

“It will definitely be an attraction for them to come and visit Sabah.”

“When they visit Sabah, they will surely see the beauty of the interesting places in Sabah, which is indeed famous for its beaches, mountains, forests, wildlife, and so on,” he said during the BIIBBF 2024 Gala Dinner here on Saturday.

Nizam said that the organisation of the event could simultaneously provide a lot of economic spillovers, especially from the hospitality, transportation, food, and many other sectors.

“The state government is indeed pleased that such programs can be made an annual event in Sabah because various benefits are generated through its organisation.”

“The organisers also intend to bring this program to Tawau, but our current challenge is the condition of the roads that need to be upgraded,” said Nizam.

Meanwhile, the President of the Sabah High Powered Motorcycle Association, Datuk Osman Ahmed, said that they are planning to further expand the program in Sabah as a tourist attraction in the state.

He said that this time the program involved 1,150 participants, including 500 motorcycle owners.

According to him, there are several owners who claim to have experienced damage to their machinery, including tires and broken rims due to the poor condition of the roads.

He said that there were also high-powered motorcycle riders who were injured while touring the Kundasang Ranau area before attending the program.
