KOTA BELUD: Usukan Assemblyman Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak has called on young people to focus on enhancing their skills, creativity, and critical thinking.
He stressed that this initiative is vital in an increasingly global and complex world, which demands greater competitiveness.
Salleh, a former Chief Minister, pointed out that Sabah requires youth who are not only intelligent but also capable of making meaningful contributions to societal progress and well-being.
Emphasizing the theme of “Unity for a Great Sabah,” he underscored the necessity for collaboration among teachers, parents, and the community to nurture a better future generation.
“The partnership between parents, educators, and the community will cultivate students who excel academically and embody strong character—future leaders and innovators for Sabah,” he remarked.
Salleh shared these insights during the 2023/2024 SMK Usukan Outstanding Student Award Ceremony, which was also attended by SMK Usukan Principal Hajral Bin Hj Sekal.
Salleh acknowledged that the achievements of these students are a result of the dedication and support from all parties involved.
“Parents serve as the primary educators at home, while teachers enhance this by imparting knowledge in school.
“The synergy between home and school is essential for our children to thrive in all areas of life,” he added.
