KOTA KINABALU: Perkasa Padu FC has claimed victory in the 9-a-side BMU Football League held in celebration of Malaysia Day 2024 at the Ganang Kepayan field on Sunday.
MBR FC finished as the runner-up, while KDMR Junior and Total X Inara shared the third position.
Ninewjo Newmond, president of BMU FC and chairman of the organising committee, emphasised that the event is designed to foster camaraderie among the participating players.
He also highlighted the competition’s potential to identify and nurture talent for advanced levels of play.
The league was collaboratively organised by BMU Kota Kinabalu football club, Avantang Enterprise, and Rupy Enterprise.
Ninewjo mentioned that a total of 24 teams, including those from Kudat, Kota Marudu, Kota Belud, Beaufort, and Kota Kinabalu, took part in the league.
