KOTA KINABALU: The golf event organised by Kuala Penyu Golf & Country Club (KPGCC), which received a lot of response, had to be decided through the ‘first pay, first serve’ method.

Deputy President of KPGCC, Drs. Moneh Epin, said that although participants were limited to only 120 people, the invitational tournament has now received 136 players who have registered so far.

“Although the closing date ends on September 25, those who pay early will be prioritised in the list of 120 players.

“I had a discussion with the organising committee chaired by Yussof Imbang yesterday and agreed on the draw,” he said in a statement today.

Drs. Moneh said the KPGCC 2024 invitational tournament will take place at the golf course, Sabah Golf & Country Club (SGCC), Bukit Padang, Kota Kinabalu, on September 28 starting at 7.00 am.

According to him, this tournament highlights a little difference: if there is no winner of the ‘hole in one’ prize of a motorcycle, then the main prize is up for grabs for a lucky ticket draw for the players.

In addition, he said, KPGC offers RM20,000 in accumulated prizes through four contested categories, namely net, gross, women, and seniors (60 years and above), in addition to 50 lucky draw prizes.

According to Drs. Moneh, the 3rd golf tournament was featured in a lively atmosphere while witnessing the elite sporting event, which will become an annual KPGCC event from now on.

While thanking the golf enthusiasts who registered, Drs. Moneh said this tournament successfully attracted participation from government, private, and corporate officials.
