Dr. Gindol recently earned his PhD in Political Science from Wilmington Metropolitan University.

Parti Kerjasama Anak Negeri (Anak Negeri) President, Datuk Henrynus Amin, confirmed in a statement that Kanul has applied to join Anak Negeri early last month, and his application was approved by Anak Negeri Supreme Council on 31 July 2024.

“We welcomed him with open arms to be a fellow member and join the Anak Negeri leadership team,” said Henrynus.

“We are fully aware of Kanul’s activities as an activist, and we appreciate his contribution to the people of Sabah through his writings on local and national issues.”

“We are happy to offer Kanul a new political platform for him to continue his political struggle to fight for the people of Sabah.”

“We had a long heart-to-heart discussion about the party’s political vision, goals, and strategies.”

He said Kanul fully subscribes to the party’s 5-point political agenda, which are:

  1. To fight for the unity, equality, and dignity of the people of Sabah regardless of race and religion.
  2. To ensure a cordial state-federal relationship based on shared values, a common political vision for Malaysia, commitment to human rights and democratic principles, and also state rights as enshrined in MA63 and the Federal Constitution.
  3. To ensure the Federal Government honours their constitutional security obligation to Sabah to help resolve the problems related to the huge presence of transient populations.
  4. To eradicate rural poverty, reduce youth unemployment, and develop Sabah’s economy, social services, and infrastructure to be on par with states in West Malaysia, and also to create business and employment opportunities for people of Sabah in every sector of the economy.
  5. To promote and ensure good governance, transparency, and respect for the fundamental human rights of the freedom of religion.

He said Kanul has been appointed Anak Negeri zone leader for Kota Belud and the northern zone, where he will be establishing party branches, carrying out membership drives, and organising party activities.

Meanwhile, Henrynus said Anak Negeri welcomes anyone from Sabah who is interested and who fully subscribes to the party political vision, goals, and objectives to join the party and help to contribute to nation-building as an opposition political party.
