Collaboration between national parties and local party alliances vital for Sabah to progress – UMNO Sec. Gen

KOTA BELUD: UMNO Secretary-General Datuk Wira Dr Asyarf Wajdi Dato’ Dusuki suggests that the most effective way for Sabah to progress is through a collaboration between national parties and local party alliances.

As such, he hopes that the people in the state will not succumb to the persuasion of a few factions pushing for the sole support of local parties in the forthcoming Sabah State Election (PRN).

According to Asyarf Wajdi, by collaborating with local parties, improvements can be made in the state’s development where the state government still needs support from the Federal Government, particularly in development allocations.

“The local parties have restored the rights of Sabahans. These are local parties; what have the ruling parties achieved? Development was much more effective during Umno/BN’s governance in the state; now they are merely advocating against the national party. “Our home, we manage it but seek assistance from the federal government,” he said.

Asyarf Wajdi made these remarks during his address at the Kota Belud UMNO division meeting at the Botung Sports Complex, near here, last Saturday.

He encouraged UMNO members to strive diligently to secure the party’s success in the upcoming PRN.
