MA63, a crucial constitutional document that must be respected, Mositun

KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Johnny Mositun, the vice president of Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), expressed his belief in the significance of the MA63 as a crucial constitutional document that laid the foundation for Malaysia.

He emphasised that any agreements and negotiations made by the founding fathers of Malaysia (Sabah, Sarawak, Singapore, and Malaya) must be respected and upheld without question.

Mositun stressed that there is no room for ambiguity in this matter.

“Even if a review is deemed necessary, the terms must be more favourable for Sabah and Sarawak, as these two components are essential for the existence of Malaysia,” he said.

Mositun said this in his speech when opening the PBS Karambunai division meeting at Dewan Datuk Johnny Goh Tampulan, near here today.

Further highlighted is that Sabah and Sarawak have contributed their natural resources, such as oil, to the federation.

“However, despite more than 60 years passing, Sabah still remains the poorest state. This raises the question of why this disparity exists,” he said.

The former deputy speaker expressed his hope that the federal government would find a lasting solution to the issue of illegal immigrants (PTI) in Sabah.

Mositun emphasised that the matter of PTI should not be forgotten for the sake of the people’s well-being.
