KOTA KINABALU: Sabah UMNO Chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin has cautioned Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) and Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) that UMNO Sabah is unafraid to confront them in the upcoming state election.
“Presently, numerous leaders boldly reject UMNO due to it being a Malayan (Peninsular) party. I want to make it clear to PBS and to STAR that they should not underestimate Sabah UMNO, as we are prepared and fearless,” he asserted.
Bung said this in his speech in conjunction with the Sepanggar UMNO Division Meeting held here on Saturday.
According to Bung, PBS is the only party that UMNO cannot form an alliance with.
Consequently, Bung firmly declines any collaboration with Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), including in the forthcoming 17th State Election (PRN17).
He emphasised that the past history they shared with Barisan Nasional (BN) prevents any possibility of cooperation between the two parties.
“They (PBS) betrayed BN on multiple occasions. In 1990, they departed after the candidate nomination, do you recall? They secured 14 parliamentary seats by deceiving BN,” he expressed.
