KOTA KINABALU: Former Federal Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak believes that the strategy employed by the MACC to entice informers with incentive schemes in the fight against corruption will yield positive outcomes.

In his view, this approach will effectively enable the MACC to obtain reliable information and evidence for their investigations.

Consequently, Salleh, who is also the former Sabah chief minister, urges politicians from all parties to lend their support to this “incentive scheme plan” proposed by MACC chief Tan Sri Azam Baki.

Salleh asserts that the implementation of such schemes will instill fear in corrupt individuals, as it will also foster a sense of distrust among them.

This is due to the fact that certain parties will have incentives to expose corrupt practices among civil servants, businessmen, and politicians.

He expressed these sentiments in his recent Facebook post, emphasising that people will be motivated to report such crimes due to the attractive rewards offered.

Furthermore, Salleh believes that by doing so, individuals are not only benefiting themselves but also contributing to the betterment of the nation.
