KOTA KINABALU: Tan Sri Musa Aman, the former Chief Minister of Sabah, expresses his deepest condolences to Puan Sri Melinda and her family on the passing of Tan Sri Joseph Kurup.
Musa acknowledges Kurup’s extensive political career, spanning four decades, during which he held various ministerial positions.
In a statement, Musa, along with his wife Puan Sri Faridah Haji Tussin and their family, extends their heartfelt sympathies to Puan Sri Melinda and the family of the late Tan Sri Joseph Kurup.
Musa had the privilege of working with Kurup while serving as the Chief Minister of Sabah.
Kurup, as the president of Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS), played a crucial role as a strong ally of Barisan Nasional.
Musa recognises Kurup as the foundation of PBRS, having served as its president since its establishment until his retirement last year.
Despite retiring from politics, Kurup remained dedicated to the party and passed on the leadership to his son, Arthur Kurup.
Musa emphasises that Kurup was not only a political ally but also a loyal friend who valued open discussions and upheld the spirit of mutual cooperation and respect within Barisan Nasional.
“As a partner in BN, Kurup remained unwavering until the end, standing by his friends in their time of need,” he said.
