KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor attended the Excellence Appreciation Ceremony of the Chief Minister’s Department (JKM) in 2018-2023 here on Friday night.
During the ceremony, the Chief Minister also presented the Excellent Service Award to recipients for the years 2018 to 2023.
State Secretary Datuk Seri Panglima Safar Untong, in his speech, said that the state government is always committed and recognises a culture of excellence among civil servants by providing various awards.
“I hope that recognition and appreciation like this will serve as motivation and inject enthusiasm to continue being proactive and productive in delivering quality services and become the best role model and mentor to others,” he said.
He said that the civil service is the backbone of the country; therefore, it is everyone’s responsibility to provide the best service to the people.
“In this fast-paced era, the desires and demands of the people require changes in obtaining government services.
“To meet the people’s demands, we must always have a forward-looking perspective to ensure that civil servants remain relevant in providing the best service to the people in support of the concept of Malaysia Madani and the direction of Sabah Maju Jaya,” he said.
During the ceremony, a total of 125 outstanding individuals from the Chief Minister’s Department, selected from 15 offices, divisions, and units after being screened and evaluated for their contributions, were chosen as recipients of the Chief Minister’s Excellent Service Award for the years 2018 to 2023.
Meanwhile, 39 individuals received special awards for the years 2021–2023.
