The king and queen have a special place in the hearts of Sabahans – Hajiji

KUALA LUMPUR: Sabahans fondly remember the King and Queen as very down-to-earth people, as evident during their historic family Kembara Kenali Borneo tour last September, which has endeared them to Sabahans from all walks of life.

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah’s reign will be fondly remembered by the people of Sabah, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor.

“Both were seen as compassionate when they reached out to the people in distress in several instances,” he said.

“On behalf of the Sabah State Government, we thank their majesties for their services to the nation and wish them and their families well,” said.

The Chief Minister said this after attending the royal banquet in conjunction with the end of Al-Sultan Abdullah’s reign as the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel here last night (January 27).
