Peter Anthony willing to take a pay cut to ensure restoration of inspection trolley service in Pangi, Tenom

KOTA KINABALU: Former State Works Minister Datuk Peter Anthony is ready to have his salary cut if the GRS government is unable to restore the Inspection Trolley (IT) service for the facilities of residents of Kampung Pangi in Tenom.

He said that IT services are very important, especially in emergency cases.

“When I was a minister before, I provided this IT service to help the villagers there when there was an emergency such as illness, childbirth, and so on.

“However, I understand that IT services have been withdrawn and hope that the state government (GRS Government) will restore IT services.

“And I am willing to take a pay cut as YB as long as the IT facilities that the people of Tenom (Pangi) desperately need are reactivated,” he said.

Peter, who is also the president of the Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM), said this when debating the 2024 budget in the Sabah State Legislative Assembly here today.

He also expressed his disappointment that the Keningau-Tenom road was not included as a priority project in the 2024 Sabah Budget.

“The Keningau-Tenom road has not been upgraded for a long time, and I appeal to the state government to seriously consider this matter for the good of the people,” he said.
