KOTA KINABALU: Appointed State Assemblyman Datuk Suhaimi Nasir has denied Sindumin Assemblyman Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob’s claim that Sabah UMNO Division chiefs were appointed as Giat Mara Centre Coordinators.
Suhaimi, who is also the Libaran UMNO Division Chief, asserted that he himself had never been appointed as the coordinator of the Giat Mara Centre in his area.
“The statement made by YB Sindumin amounted to slander
“I ask him (Yusof) to retract this statement,” he said when Yusof debated the 2024 Sabah Budget at the State Legislative Assembly here today.
Before that, Tungku Assemblyman Assafal Alian had asked Yusof to clarify the appointment of some leaders of the Parti Gagasan Rakyat (Gagasan Rakyat) in the State Government-Linked Companies (GLCs).
Meanwhile, Lamag Assemblyman Datuk Seri Panglima Bung Moktar Radin questioned Yusof for making the wild allegation based on a quote from the UMNO Secretary General’s press release.
“Can a press release be used in this House? If we can, let’s use it.
“I believe YB Sindumin understands. Don’t be like people who are less intelligent in this state assembly,” stressed Bung Moktar.
