Ranau District Office, Huangshan City, China signs a Note of Collaboration

KOTA KINABALU: Ranau District Office and Huangshan City, China signed a Note of Collaboration here at Wisma Innoprise, on Sept 8 to promote collaboration of mutual interest.

Deputy Chief Minister II cum Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam witnessed the signing of the document by Ranau District Officer Jumain Abdul Ghani and Xia Jian Ping, Chairman of the Huangshan Municipal Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese.

With the signing, both parties agreed to exercise their best efforts in accordance to the following terms of the collaboration:

(a) to cooperate in knowledge sharing in the management of mountain regional development and administration,

(b) to promote cultural and educational exchange,

(c) to promote trade and investment in Ranau District with special reference in eco-tourism, agro-farming and manufacturing, natural herbal medicine research and development (R&D), and

(d) to carry out any other forms of cooperation as may be jointly agreed by the Parties.

Also present were the Chairman of the Anhui Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Li Shiyun, Chairman of the Borneo Economic and Trade Promotion Association Malaysia, Datuk Chua Soon Bui and Councillor of Ranau District, Japiril Suhaimin.
