A party source told Jesselton Times that so far PCS has not made any decision on whether to participate or stay out of the 15th general election.

“It is highly likely that PCS does not contest for the good of the party and does not want to split votes,” said the source.

It is reliably learnt that the party is taking
a cautious approach in the interests of the political stability in the state.

The source also revealed that PCS will remain as a Sabah base party without affiliation to national parties and will consistently fight for Sabah rights.

It is understood that PCS, led by former foreign minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman, is restructuring its party leadership with new faces with professional qualifications being recruited.

Sabah Chief Minister, who is also GRS Chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, was quoted as saying recently that the GRS leadership will decide on the application of several local-based parties, including PCS to join GRS soon.

Hajiji also asserted that negotiations between GRS and Barisan Nasional (BN) are still ongoing to avoid clashes in GE15.
