KTC donates 20,000 loaves of bread to mosques in 13 districts

KOTA KINABALU: In conjunction with the month of Ramadan, Kim Teck Cheong (KTC) Consolidated Berhad, a leading food producer in Sabah has donated 20,000 Gardenia/ Creamos breads to the Kota Kinabalu City Mosque, Likas and several district mosques in the state.

The contribution was presented by its Executive Director, Datuk Dexter Lau to the Chairman of the Kota Kinabalu City Mosque, Datuk Haji Abd Jamal Tun Haji Sakaran.

Among the district mosques that received the donations were the Kudat, Kota Marudu, Ranau, Beluran, Sandakan, Tawau, Semporna, Telupid, Keningau, Tenom and Tambunan District Mosques.

Also present was the Chief Assistant Director of the Mosque, Regional and District Administration Division, Sabah Islamic Religious Affairs Department (JHEAINS), Haji Awang Juri Awang Tahir.

Lau, when met by the media, hoped that with this Gardenia/ Creamos bread, he could help those who break their fast.

“In entering this endemic phase, I hope the community can carry out daily activities fully, cooperate with each other and help each other to those who need food aid,” he said.

Lau also thanked all parties for the support given to KTC to become a strong company.

“KTC will be celebrating its 84th anniversary, which this business has been inherited by three generations (Lau),” he said.

Lau in recent interview mentioned to await to celebrate 100 years and beyond.
