KOTA KINABALU: Former Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak opined there is merit to consider forming a Crisis Cabinet to govern Malaysia until it is safe to hold the next election.
“In times like these, our new Government should embrace new governance system – one that focuses on crisis management.
“We must heed the advice of Yang di-Pertuan Agong to prioritise the well-being of the rakyat,” he said in his latest Facebook posting.
Salleh said: “This way, we can stay focused on what is important and hopefully get through all this together”.
Today, MPs believed to be backing Umno vice-president Ismail Sabri Yaakob for the prime minister’s job were summoned to Istana Negara, reportedly for the King to verify their support for the former deputy prime minister.
After the new prime minister is named, a new cabinet will also be appointed.
