KOTA KINABALU: Former Assistant Minister and Deputy Sabah State Assembly speaker, Datuk James Vitalis passed away today.

A close contact said that he has been ill for quite some time and that he died around midnight today (12.55am).
James, who was formerly the assistant registrar of the high court was Petagas Assemblyman during the Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) era where he served as the assistant minister to the deputy chief minister in 1985.
