KOTA KINABALU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will preside over the Malaysia Agreement 1963 Action Council (MTPMA63) meeting at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) on September 11.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah and Sarawak) Datuk Mustapha Sakmud said the MTPMA63 will address important issues concerning the rights of Sabah and Sarawak.
He said the meeting will also be attended by the Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, and the Premier of Sarawak, Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
This meeting is part of the Prime Minister’s working visit to Sabah, which starts on Thursday, he said.
Mustapha told reporters after giving away aid to nine students of the Kota Kinabalu Sixth Form College who were impacted by a recent fire in Kg Numbak in Sepanggar, near here.
He said the government is looking into options to temporarily accommodate the students affected by the fire in available school dormitories to ensure their education continues without interruption.
Mustapha stated that this plan will be assessed in collaboration with the Minister of Education, Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek, particularly for students who are preparing for the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) and those in Sixth Form.
He observed that some of the affected students are currently living in tents at the site of the incident and in a mosque, highlighting the need for immediate assistance.
