KTC Mega Sale 2026 in Kolombong attracts large crowds

KOTA KINABALU: The KTC Mega Sale, which started today, has garnered a fantastic response from the public.

Datuk Dexter Lau, the CEO of Kim Teck Cheong Consolidated Berhad (KTC), said  the three-day Mega Sale (running until Sunday) features significant discounts and more affordable essential items.

He expressed his joy over the positive feedback, believing it will set a standard for KTC’s future success in the business sector.

“This success (the response) is amazing, and I hope the public can fully benefit from this year’s KTC Mega Sale.

“This time, we have unlimited sales, and all items are brand new, not old stock. This reflects the spirit of KTC.

“We recognize that many are struggling due to the rising cost of living, and this is our way of giving back or helping consumers,” he said when he was at the Mega Sale site at the KTC building in Kolombong.

Datuk Dexter stressed that the Mega KTC Sale organizers do not plan to compete with the government’s Rahmah Sale program.

“We do not intend to challenge or compete with anyone. We are here to assist the people… and this is just for three days,” he noted.

Surveys show that the Mega KTC Sale offers discounts on essential goods of up to 80%, while the Rahmah Sale program led by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living provides discounts between 10% and 30% on essential items.

Datuk Dexter also mentioned that KTC aims to extend the Mega Sale program to other districts in Sabah in the future.

He added that KTC plans to hold a Mega Sale in Sarawak.

Due to high demand, KTC is likely to take part in the 11th Sabah International Expo (SIE) 2026.

The SIE is set to occur from September 2 to 6, 2026, at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

“If everything goes smoothly, KTC will provide 30 booths for the SIE event,” he said.
