BEAUFORT: A 23-year-old local man was found dead yesterday at Cerah Commercial Centre after reportedly falling from a building.
Superintendent Champin Piuh, Beaufort District Police Chief, said authorities were alerted to the incident and promptly dispatched officers to the site for an initial assessment.
He noted that a medical officer from Beaufort Hospital attended the scene and confirmed the man had died.
“The Beaufort District Criminal Investigation Division has completed a site inspection, taken statements from the victim’s family, and performed forensic examinations to support the inquiry,” he said in a statement issued today.
The case has been officially recorded as a Sudden Death Report (SDR), with investigations continuing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
He urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified claims or speculation, which could hinder the investigation.
