KOTA KINABALU: One victim has died while five others were injured in a road accident near the Hakka Hall on Signal Hill Park Road, near here last night.
According to the Sabah Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), a distress call was received at 10:52 PM, and the team arrived at the scene about 7 minutes later.
The accident involved a Toyota Hilux that veered off the road and fell into a ditch.
A total of 11 personnel from the Kota Kinabalu Fire Station, led by PBK II Muhamad Shafie Jumiran, along with members of the police and KKM, were present for the rescue operation.
The injured victims were transported to the hospital via KKM ambulances and the Fire Department’s EMRS vehicle for further treatment, while the deceased was handed over to the police.
The injured included three men and two women aged between 19 and their 20s, with two of them sustaining serious injuries.
The deceased was a young girl.
