PAPAR: Kinarut Palm Avenue, developed by WSG Group, is another landmark or important project in Papar, said Papar Member of Parliament Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali.

He said the project is a follow-up to the Kinarut Park City building, and the first one was Kinarut Palm Square.

He said the Kinarut Palm Avenue will provide 52 shophouses, a fitness centre (gym), Everaise Supermarket, and ballroom building components, as well as 10 Star Cinema.

“So this will complete the Kinarut district ecosystem developed by WSG Group. I express my deepest gratitude and congratulations to the developer,” he said.

Armizan said, ‘WSG Group is one of the developers who succeeded not only in the early stages as soon as the groundbreaking process was done; they carried out the work quite quickly and the progress very smoothly.’

“We welcome WSG Group to see what other development components can be brought to the Papar parliamentary constituency,” he said to the media after officiating the groundbreaking ceremony of 52 units of 2-storey shoplots and Everrise Supermarket with Level-Up Fitness 24-hour GYM in Kinarut Palm Avenue here on Saturday.

Armizan considered that WSG Group, in particular its Managing Director, Datuk Susan Wong Siew Guen, is a figure of transformation to the Papar district.

“Previously Papar was considered a rural area; today Papar has not only become a suburb, but the spillover of development and the modernisation of the township can already be seen in Papar, and we are confident that within two to three years, Papar will be more developed.

The most important thing is that the progress brings benefits to the community: firstly, opportunities for PMKS in Papar in particular, and secondly, job opportunities for the community, especially the young people in Papar.

We will work closely with WSG Group and also relevant parties in Papar, including government agencies, because this development also comes with infrastructure facilities such as roads, water, electricity and other utilities that complement each other,” he said.

The Minister of Domestic Trade and Living Costs of Malaysia said he is very happy with the development with the groundbreaking for Kinarut Park Avenue.

He said the existence of the Level-Up Fitness centre, as well as the Everrise Departmental Store and 10 Star Cinema, shows that there is confidence in the potential of Papar to become more developed.

The development of Kinarut Palm Avenue is the latest phase that focuses on commercial shop lots, before the construction of a shopping centre, which is expected to be developed in the next one to two years.

Meanwhile, WSG Group Managing Director Datuk Susan Wong Siew Guen said the Kinarut Park Avenue development focuses on commercial shops before the shopping mall, which is expected to be developed within the next one to two years.

She explained that the development in the Kinarut area continues, with long-term planning expected to change the commercial landscape of the Papar district within the next few years.

“I actually already spent more than 15 years in Kinarut, but in between I developed in Benoni. Now I come back to continue to develop in Kinarut, and the last stage is the commercial shop lots.

After I finished developing Kinarut Park City and Kinarut Palm Avenue, the next one is a shopping mall in one or two years.

Susan also welcomed the state and federal governments’ commitment, especially Armizan’s, to improve the road, water supply and electricity supply system in Kinarut.

Also attending the ceremony are Assistant Minister of Rural Development of Sabah and State Assemblyman of Limbahau, Datuk Juil Nuatim; Yayasan Sabah Director cum Kawang State Assemblyman, Dato’ Seri Haji Ghulam Haidar Khan Bahadar; Chief Executive Officer of 10Star Cinemas S/B, Onn Norshal Hamzah; Chairman of Everrise Departmental Store, Jeffrey Sia; Executive Director of Level-Up Fitness Sdn Bhd, Kenny Sia; and Directors of WSG Group Directors Vanessa Wong and Melissa Wong.
