Warisan urged to present proposed cabinet lineup ahead of the crucial PRN

KOTA KINABALU: As the election nears, Warisan is urged to present a proposed Cabinet lineup that reflects Sabah’s diverse ethnic composition, similar to the current GRS State Government.

In making the call, former state assemblyman Datuk James Ligunjang said as a multi-racial party, Warisan’s Cabinet should embody this diversity to resonate with the state’s various communities.

“Warisan is planning to contest the upcoming state election either independently or solo, which makes it essential for them to present a proposed Cabinet lineup,“ he said in his latest social media post.

Ligunjang opined that a well-structured shadow cabinet, with clearly defined roles or portfolios for each candidate, is vital for voters to assess the party’s readiness to govern effectively.

This approach enables the electorate to evaluate whether Warisan’s candidates have the necessary qualifications and capabilities to manage key governmental responsibilities, he added.

“Transparency is crucial. Warisan should provide detailed information about each candidate’s experience and expertise relative to their proposed portfolios.

“Such transparency will facilitate a critical review of their preparedness and suitability for leadership roles, helping voters make informed decisions,“ he said.

Ligunjang said addressing concerns about Warisan’s capacity to manage the complexities of state governance through transparent and comprehensive presentation of their shadow cabinet can help boost public confidence in their leadership potential.

“Failure to present a shadow cabinet will reflect badly on the confidence of the electorate in whether Warisan is a better option than the present state government under GRS,“ he said.
