With father in jail, Peter Anthony’s daughter rises to the fore spearheading the KDM campaign in PRN17

PENAMPANG: The top leadership of the Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM) has decided that the role of party president, previously held by Datuk Peter Anthony, will now be taken on by Deputy President Priscella Peter.

Priscella will be assisted by another Deputy President, Datuk Wetrom Bahanda, who was previously appointed as the KDM Election Director.

Secretary-General Willie Jude stated that this unanimous decision was made during a meeting of the KDM top leadership, chaired by Wetrom, at the party’s headquarters here today.

He said that the decision was made for the good of the party, especially with the upcoming 17th State Election (PRN17).

“This decision was made unanimously and with full agreement, as we had already planned for any eventualities, including matters related to the President’s case.

“This decision also aligns with Priscella’s role as one of the party’s founders, and Datuk Wetrom fully supports this decision, having even suggested it himself.

“We each have our roles in the party, and I believe that with our close relationship, which feels like family, we can face any challenges ahead,” he said in a statement today.

Priscella, 27, is a graduate from Curtin University Australia with a master’s degree in accounting.

Willie added that today’s meeting also confirmed that KDM will maintain its previous stance to contest solo in the upcoming PRN17.

He stated that all party plans, including those made by Peter, will continue.

“The struggle goes on; we will not step back even an inch. This is a fight for Sabah, for the people,” he emphasised.
