A former KDM vice president joins Gagasan Rakyat

BEAUFORT: Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Malaysia (KDM) vice president
Datuk Hajah Johair Binti Matlan has announced her departure from the party and her decision to join the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) today.

The announcement was made during the Tea Ceremony with Leaders, which was held in conjunction with the New Year 2024 here.

During the ceremony, Hajah Johair submitted her membership form to Assistant Minister of Local Government and State Housing, Datuk Isnin Aliasnih, who is also a member of the Gagasan Rakyat Supreme Council.

Speaking to reporters, Isnin described Hajah Johair’s decision to join Gagasan Rakyat as a commendable and wise move.

He explained that this is because Hajah Johair has chosen to align herself with a stronger local party that is capable of safeguarding the interests of the people of Sabah.

Isnin emphasised that the time has come for the people of Sabah to unite and rally behind a local party.

Meanwhile, Hajah Johair revealed that almost all the committee members of KDM Beaufort have also expressed their intention to leave the party and join Gagasan Rakyat.

She expressed her hope that their collective participation would contribute to strengthening the Gagasan Rakyat in preparation for the upcoming state election.
